Italy's This Eternal Decay — a darkwave/gothic rock/synth‑pop project by Riccardo Sabetti, Andrea Freda and Alessio Schiavi — have shared another cut, "Violate", from their forthcoming sixth full‑length, Amigdala.
Amigdala — a title that perfectly reflects the soul of the record — draws on the amygdala, the part of the brain tied to emotion and memory, becoming a symbol of faded memories, lingering pain and lost loves resurfacing unexpectedly. The record is due out on 15 January 2027.
Across 15 tracks on the CD/digital edition and 11 tracks on vinyl, Amigdala explores a world suspended between nostalgia and darkness. The icy coldness of darkwave coexists seamlessly with deeply melancholic, cinematic melodies.
The album guides listeners through haunting atmospheres, hypnotic synths and moments of intense emotional weight, creating an immersive journey through fragmented memories.
The visual artwork was crafted by renowned visual artist RVS. The cover features a digital reworking of a photograph of Italian model and muse Misty, transforming her image into a dreamlike representation of memory, desire and the emotional traces left by the past. Link
