"Gift From The Fog" is the sombre second cut from Inhabit, the ghostly second album by Italian ambient doom/dreamgaze quartet Bosco Sacro, set to emerge on 6 November under Supernatural Cat Records on vinyl, CD, a Limited‑Edition LP + CD bundle, and digital formats.
Inhabit stands as a captivating exercise in sonic existentialism and a bold departure from their prior work. Entirely composed live in their rehearsal room and recorded by the band over a seven‑day session with producer Lorenzo Stecconi, the album captures a raw, collective energy. Across eight interconnected tracks, Bosco Sacro craft a modern ritual of ego dissolution and rebirth, weaving a diverse sonic tapestry where the crushing weight of doom and slowcore meets the weightless beauty of dreamgaze, ambient and trip‑hop.
Inhabit was recorded by the band with Lorenzo Stecconi (Amenra, Zu, Ufomammut, Lento) at Daniele Onori's AMM, Monteggiori Studio in the hills of Tuscany, then mixed and mastered by Stecconi at Triple Sun in Rome. Fans of Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, Lankum, Portishead, Massive Attack, Esben And The Witch and The 3rd And The Mortal should not miss Bosco Sacro.
The dialogue between the physical and the metaphysical is embodied in the album's artwork. The cover features Testa di Terra (Head of Earth), a striking raw‑clay sculpture by Italian artist Roberta Busato. Like the music, the sculpture is born from the soil — fragile yet enduring. Depicted with closed eyes, the face suggests a deeply meditative state, serving as the visual incarnation of the album's concept: an invitation to step out of the noise of ordered life, embrace the fertile void and leap into a world where past and future coexist. Artwork from the regular edition reappears within the layers of the limited edition, connecting the two versions. The limited cover features an irregularly shaped cutout and four differently coloured inserts, concentrically die‑cut to reveal the final layer — the disc itself, an artefact to be unearthed and listened to. The inner sheets can be rotated randomly, ensuring each copy of the limited edition has a slightly different appearance.
Michele Canevari's video for "Gift From The Fog" begins exactly where her video for Inhabit's lead single left off, continuing the album's dialogue. The band writes: "As the noise of Inhabit reaches its peak, the wall of sound suddenly breaks, sliding into a suspended, white haze. 'Gift From The Fog' takes over. Born on a day when a thick, silent fog swallowed the city of Pavia—where we practised for the whole album—this track is the natural sequel to that letting go. It’s the soundtrack to waking up to an absolute quietness, where the world has lost its sharpness, and where weight and expectations are finally left behind".
