Ukrainian doom/death metal veterans Te Deum have announced their fourth full-length album, Gates To The Unknown, set for international release on 20 November via Moon Records. To kick off the album campaign, the band has also unveiled the first single, "Funeral Song", accompanied by an official music video.
Emerging from a nation still scarred by the realities of war, Te Deum channel a profound sense of loss, uncertainty, and existential reflection into their latest material. Gates To The Unknown draws inspiration from themes of mortality and the mysteries beyond life, translating them into a crushing blend of heavyweight riffs, sombre atmospheres, and deeply melancholic melodies.
The new record continues the band's longstanding exploration of the darker dimensions of human existence while capturing the emotional weight of a world confronted by tragedy and upheaval. Through its mournful yet powerful compositions, the album offers a bleak but thought-provoking journey into the unknown.
With a legacy spanning more than three decades, Te Deum remain one of the enduring forces within the Ukrainian metal underground. Their distinctive sound, balancing the crushing intensity of death metal with the introspective depth of doom, has secured the band a lasting place within the genre's darker realms.
As a first glimpse into Gates To The Unknown, "Funeral Song" showcases Te Deum's ability to merge atmospheric melancholy with unrelenting heaviness, reaffirming their commitment to crafting emotionally resonant and uncompromising metal.
