Israeli synth-pop/electro act thewalkingicon has released its new single, "Where We Meet", ushering in a significant new chapter for the band. The track is the first to emerge following the departure of co-founding member Sasha Rempel, leaving Dmitry Osipov to steer the project into its next phase.
More than just a new release, "Where We Meet" represents the beginning of what could be described as thewalkingicon 2.0. The band's refreshed line-up introduces vocalist Asya Makarski and guitarist Alex Rakitin, whose contributions help shape the evolving sound and identity of the project while maintaining its electronic core.
Reflecting on the song's meaning, Dmitry Osipov explains: "At its heart, 'Where We Meet' literally is talking about the ability to find a common ground to meet on, about preserving the place where we can meet, emotionally, spiritually, or simply as human beings. It is a song about respect, gratitude, and the shared ground that remains when certainty is gone, giving us a reason to move forward even after the bridges behind us have been burned."
With its message of reconciliation, understanding, and resilience, "Where We Meet" serves as both a statement of renewal and a glimpse into the future direction of thewalkingicon as the project embarks on its next creative journey. Link
