Dark pop/futurepop duo Platronic have released their new EP, The Emperor's New Clothes. The three-track offering features a trio of reworks of the act's latest single, "Fortress Of Fools", and arrives alongside a brand-new video filmed in Savonlinna, Finland, and Alicante, Spain.
Inspired by the well-known Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, vocalist and lyricist Kay, who has long sought to make sense of the world's daily absurdities, originally penned the text as a storytelling ballad. The song subsequently took a different direction when Sami introduced a vibrant, dancefloor-ready instrumental, allowing the track to evolve naturally into its final form.
Founded in 2020, Platronic is the collaborative venture of Finnish composer and producer Sami and German singer, songwriter and co-producer Kay Burden. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Depeche Mode, VNV Nation, and ABBA, the duo have crafted a distinctive sound that blends emotional depth with inventive electronic arrangements.
Over the years, the pair have steadily established themselves through a combination of heartfelt songwriting and genre-crossing creativity. Their motto, "Music That Makes Your Heart Beat Faster", encapsulates the passion and energy at the heart of their work, qualities that are especially evident in their live performances. The duo are set to continue bringing their music to audiences across Finland and Germany in 2027. Link
