French post-punk band Urge has just recently released a new video single "In Tenebris". This is already the third single from their forthcoming debut album Here/After due out on 15 November via Icy Cold Records.
Urge comments: "'In Tenebris' is a reflection on the disintegration of belief and the isolation that follows. It presents a stark vision of a world where meaning has collapsed, and survival becomes an act of defiance. Through its haunting soundscapes, the track contemplates humanity's struggle to navigate a future devoid of certainty."
The upcoming album, Here/After, is both urgent and introspective, a primal cry from a generation facing a bleak future. Refusing to succumb to a destiny shaped by past mistakes, the album resonates as an anthem for survival and the redemption of humanity. Each track burns like a steadfast flame in the abyss, urging the search for beauty, meaning, and tragedy even in the midst of chaos. Through its songs, Here/After explores the tension between hope and desolation, radiance and decay, capturing the essence of this existential struggle to redefine what lies ahead.
Toulouse-based outfit Urge started as a collaboration between Adrien Broué and Simon Chaubard from the band Plebeian Grandstand. Alongside their activities in the underground extreme metal scene, they yearned to portray a melancholic yet less ominous reflection of their inner turmoil. With the reinforcement of drummer Hugo Dupuis (Las Aves, Good Morning TV, Eddy De Pretto, Kalika), bassist/producer Clement Libes (BRUIT ≤, M83, Kid Wise) and guitarist Mathieu Felix (Orme), the band ventured into recording their inaugural album Here/After.
