New York-based ethereal dark pop project Ships In The Night, helmed by songwriter and producer Alethea Leventhal, has unveiled a mesmerising new video for “Blood Harmony” in celebration of All Hallows’ Eve. The track, which opens Ships In The Night’s third album Protection Spells, released in May 2025 via Metropolis Records, is a sonic invocation of safety, solidarity, and spiritual resilience.
“Blood Harmony” envelops listeners in swirling synths, spectral whispers, and Leventhal’s haunting vocals—casting a protective spell as the days grow darker. The accompanying video deepens the enchantment, following a coven of witches through a shadowed forest as they seek a sacred space to build an altar, light a fire, and unite in ritual to ward off demons.
“This video is about coming together to keep each other safe,” Leventhal shares. “It reflects the times we are living through and the hope to counter what feels dark and cold with warmth and light. It's about leaning on one another, soft strength and taking back our power.”
As the opening track of Protection Spells, “Blood Harmony” sets the tone for an album steeped in mysticism and emotional depth. Leventhal’s work as Ships In The Night continues to blur the lines between dream pop, darkwave, and devotional art—offering listeners not just music, but a refuge. With “Blood Harmony”, Ships In The Night reminds us that even in the darkest seasons, there is strength in softness and magic in unity. Link
