Norwegian symphonic black metal entity Profane Burial have revealed a new track, "Triumph Of Dreadful Aftermath", serving as the first introduction to their forthcoming full‑length Desolate Echoes Of Turmoil, slated for release on 24 July under These Hands Melt on CD and vinyl.
According to the group, "Triumph Of Dreadful Aftermath" explores how chronic insomnia and sudden panic attacks tear apart the fabric of normality, dragging the human psyche into a nightmare realm of disintegration and fear. With its ferocious delivery and orchestral darkness, the track marks a new level of aggression for Profane Burial, blending symphonic grandeur with razor‑edged black‑metal intensity.
Their upcoming record, Desolate Echoes Of Turmoil, is regarded as the ensemble's most elaborate and dynamic work to date. While the new material retains the core of their established sound — grandiose arrangements, bleak atmospheric textures, and sharp black metal execution — it also ventures deeper into progressive territory. Complex structures, shifting rhythms, and unexpected turns push the band into a modern, emotionally charged sphere without sacrificing their characteristic dark and cinematic identity.
To realise this vision, Profane Burial collaborated with notable studio names. The entire album was mixed and mastered by Børge Finstad at Toproom Studio, while the drum tracks were recorded separately at Strand Studio. Visually, the release is unified by a striking Rorschach‑inspired cover painting by Ella Kunst, created to mirror the existential and psychological tension that permeates the music. Link
