Pittsburgh’s post‑punk/shoegaze veterans Lowsunday return with “You’re So Wired”, accompanied by a visually disorienting video crafted by Jer Herring. The track captures the rush of being pulled into the orbit of someone intensely energetic and unpredictable. This figure blurs the boundary between waking life and the surreal, leaving the listener suspended between fascination and unease. Musically, it channels a vibrant alternative‑rock pulse that ultimately breaks open into a sense of liberated calm.

Speaking about the song’s thematic core, Shane Sahene explains: “‘You’re So Wired’ touches on a manic type of experience. It also echoes the classic Chuang Tzu question after a vivid dream: am I a man dreaming I am a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming I am a man? It’s that sensation of not knowing whether you’re awake or dreaming. In the video, the rapid eye movements reflect both dreaming and erratic behaviour, making it difficult to tell which state you’re witnessing.”

“You’re So Wired” appears on the recently released Ghost Machine – Black EP, out now via Projekt Records. The EP marks Lowsunday’s second collection of new material since 1999, following their long‑awaited reactivation. It was introduced by the darkly compelling lead single “This Is Not Heaven” and the focus track “Shattered” — both still available for those who missed their initial debut over HERE and HERE.

With Ghost Machine – Black EP, Lowsunday continue to refine the atmospheric, introspective sound that once made them early pioneers of retro‑futurist post‑punk and shoegaze, now sharpened with a renewed sense of urgency and emotional clarity. Link
