Symphonic black metal project Vesseles has unveiled "Until They Are Dust (Reclaimed)", a newly reworked version of the track accompanied by an atmospheric music video. The release serves as another glimpse into the project's forthcoming full-length album, Home (Reclaimed), scheduled for release on 26 March 2027.
The newly reclaimed incarnation of the song introduces the haunting vocal presence of Vesseles founder Valira, adding a deeply personal dimension to the composition. Lyrically, the track explores themes of self-confidence, personal growth, and empowerment through the lens of Valira's demonic mythology. The narrative further expands the universe surrounding Vesseles, offering new insight into the origins of "The Beneath", a nightmarish realm portrayed as a cursed, all-consuming sludge that devours humanity before giving rise to successive generations of demons.
For Valira, Vesseles functions as more than a musical endeavour. It is an artistic medium through which identity, belonging, and personal experience are examined and expressed. These themes stand at the centre of Home (Reclaimed), an album that confronts the complicated concept of "home" from the perspective of a being that exists outside the human world. Re-recorded with Valira's own vocals, the album presents what is described as the most complete and authentic representation of the project's narrative vision to date.
Musically, Home (Reclaimed) blends piano-led melodies, expansive symphonic arrangements, dissonant textures, and emotionally charged progressions, reflecting the album's introspective and otherworldly themes.
The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Nick Loiacono at Fang Studios in San Mateo, California. Performance credits include Valira Nyvran on vocals, guitars, composition, orchestrations, and lyrics, alongside Ron Graves on bass and Nikolas Brön on drums. Additional contributions come from Antonio Giardina, who provided session piano, and The Vicken Studios Orchestra, whose choir performances appear on the track "Eternally Within Us (Reclaimed)". The album artwork was created by Mark Erskine.
