In December, Subway To Sally will once again host their annual Eisheilige Nacht concerts. In celebration, together with this year's tour partners, Schandmaul, they have released a new collab single, "Räuber und Narren". But this is more than just a song: as a collaboration between two of the most influential bands in German medieval rock, "Räuber und Narren", which translates to "Outlaws and Fools", is a gripping anthem that celebrates both parties – Subway To Sally as outlaws and Schandmaul as fools – as well as their shared history. In dialogue, the storytellers self-deprecatingly explore the relevance of solidarity and the power of being different – untamed and powerful as ever.
"Räuber und Narren" is not only available as a digital track, but also as a strictly limited edition 12" single in the colour marbled gold black, which will be released on 15 December (pre-sales start now, so get your copy while supplies last).
Subway To Sally about "Räuber und Narren": "Schandmaul and Subway To Sally have been companions and close friends for decades. We are overjoyed to have finally put a joint tour together this year. It was a matter of honour that we wanted to write a song together. We think 'Räuber und Narren' is an anthem that unites not only the bands, but also their fans".
Schandmaul adds: "There's clearly a shared DNA between Subway To Sally and Schandmaul fans – and not just the fans, but the musicians themselves. So what could be more natural than a joint tour? This year, we're finally bringing this project to life, close to our hearts. Taking Eisheilige Nacht as the perfect opportunity, we've also created a joint song: 'Räuber und Narren' – a gift to our fans and to ourselves, celebrating the very DNA of minstrels!"
"Räuber und Narren" will be performed live for the first time at Eisheilige Nacht. This year's edition begins on 12 December in Pratteln, Switzerland, and will then proceed to nine German cities. As always, the tour will conclude with a show on 30 December in Subway To Sally's hometown of Potsdam. In addition to Schandmaul, who are now performing with Till Herence as their new singer after a challenging period, Kupfergold and Haggefugg will also be joining them this year (all dates are listed below).
