German folk metal warriors Sagenbringer have released their latest sonic onslaught, the single and music video “Berserker”, featuring none other than pagan/black metal stalwarts Asenblut. The track is a thunderous declaration of war—an unrelenting surge of furious riffs, pounding rhythms, and primal energy that channels the spirit of ancient battlefields.
Described by the band as “a brutal battle cry that echoes through the ranks and unleashes the inner beast,” “Berserker” is more than just a song—it’s a visceral experience. The collaboration marks a bold fusion of folk metal’s mythic grandeur with the raw aggression of extreme metal, forging a soundscape drenched in blood and iron, fury and fire.
The accompanying music video, directed by Patrick Siegels, amplifies the track’s intensity with cinematic visuals that mirror the song’s warlike ethos. It’s a storm of steel and spirit, a rallying call to the faithful and a challenge to the uninitiated.
“Berserker” also serves as the second harbinger of Sagenbringer’s upcoming album Zwischen den Welten, slated for release on 30 January 2026 via NoCut. The album promises to delve deeper into the liminal spaces between myth and reality, tradition and chaos—where folk melodies clash with blackened fury.
With this powerful collaboration, Sagenbringer and Asenblut open a new chapter in the German-speaking metal scene, where folk and extreme styles converge, and myths meet pure aggression. It’s a union that not only honours the genre’s roots but pushes its boundaries into darker, more defiant territory.
