Greek dark/folk country band :Skull & Dawn: has released a new lyric video for their haunting track "Knoxville Girl" from their second full-length, The Harvest, officially out tomorrow (17 October) through The Circle Music. "Knoxville Girl" is a traditional murder ballad that tells a dark tale of love, violence, and regret. The band's unique rendition of the classic folk tune, infused with their signature blend of American folklore and dark Americana, brings a fresh intensity to the centuries-old story.
This follows the release of the first single, "Down To Hell (Black Cat Bar)", which tells a story of late-night revelry and a dark descent. The band describes it as an "urban ceremony" filled with banjos, distorted guitars, percussion, chains and "lots of alcohol", culminating in a fall into a "dark well" that leads straight to hell.
