US neofolk Blood And Sun have announced their upcoming European tour dates in support of their highly anticipated third album Aion's Light, scheduled for release on 16 October through Nordvis. Spanning 27 dates across 15 countries, the tour begins in late October and runs through to the end of November (see dates below). Seattle's Society Of The Silver Cross will join Blood And Sun throughout the tour, with Swedish artist Linnea Hjertén opening each night.

With Aion's Light, Luke Tromiczak brings his vision of American neofolk back to its rawest foundations while pushing further into the borderlands between song, spell and memory.

The album was recorded entirely on the same Tascam 414 four‑track cassette portastudio used for Blood And Sun's earliest demo. Songs were written and tracked in the order they appear; effects were committed directly to tape, and each bounced‑down instrument narrowed the path ahead. Every decision carried weight, allowing raw instinct to become part of the final form.

Musically, Aion's Light stands somewhere between '70s folk songcraft, underground black metal spirit and the eerie atmospheres of B‑movie horror soundtracks. Echoes of Scott Walker, Of The Wand And The Moon, Woven Hand, Swans, Dave Bixby, Exuma, Leonard Cohen and Norway's Storm can be felt throughout. Guitar chords are hammered into place as a foundation for bass, keyboards, percussion and voice; sparse arrangements gather weight through repetition, atmosphere and the grain of the recording itself.

Luke comments: "Aion's Light is a return to the roots of Blood And Sun, but also a test of limits - raw sound, direct songwriting, and the old four-track that started this path in the first place. The album traces a journey from the darkness of winter to the first flowers of spring, tracing the pagan currents that continue to course through my life.
