US industrial punk outfit Virgin Birth have returned with a new six-track EP, The Dead End.

The new release continues the trio's exploration of the darker fringes of electronic music, punk, and the increasingly unsettling world around us. While the group's previous output often examined large-scale societal collapse, the material on The Dead End feels more immediate, claustrophobic, and deeply personal.

Described as a collection of songs centred on exhaustion, isolation, dread, and the sense that the road ahead is rapidly narrowing, The Dead End captures the anxiety of a world seemingly running on fumes. There's no solution waiting for you at the end of these songs... only a dead end.

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Virgin Birth comprises Phillip Olympia (vocals, synths, drum machines), Jake Miller (guitars, synths), and Matt Haas (bass). Although rooted in punk and indie rock through their previous musical ventures, the three musicians found common ground in their appreciation for the industrial movement of the 1980s and 1990s. That shared passion ultimately led them to embrace drum machines, synthesisers, and sampling, forging the abrasive industrial punk sound that defines the project today. Link
