Italian darkwave duo Vidi Aquam have shared a video for "The Last Man On Earth", a track from their latest album, Lights And Shadows, released in September 2024. The video is an animated short film created with the support of artificial intelligence. Its sole character is the last man alive on Earth - a powerful reflection on nuclear war, the chilling possibility of a world left in total destruction, and the fragility of our future. "The Last Man On Earth" serves both as a warning and an artistic statement, urging listeners to reflect on the consequences of conflict in an era where global peace seems more fragile than ever.
Formed in Milan in 1994, Vidi Aquam are stalwarts of the Italian darkwave and post-punk underground. Over the past three decades, Daniele Viola (electric guitars, bass, drum machines) and Nikita (vocals, lyrics, synths, programming) have forged a distinctive reputation for Vidi Aquam - renowned for their impassioned live performances, introspective songwriting, and a singular fusion of icy atmospheres, propulsive rhythms, and poetic lyricism.
