German melancholic post/black metallers V/Haze Miasma have signed with Inertial Music and announced their sophomore album, Praise Me! Erase Me!, coming on 7 November. The first single will be unveiled in October, followed by the second one, leading up to the full release.
Formed as a studio project and led by guitarist and composer Johannes Lenk (Hjort), V/Haze Miasma quickly gained recognition with the debut album, agenda:endure (2020, re-released via Supreme Chaos Records in 2023). The band further expanded its sonic identity with the 2022 EP Nebula, before entering Grotesque Studios in Bad Wörishofen to forge its most ambitious work to date.
The new full-length, Praise Me! Erase Me!, presents a dynamic interplay of thrilling melodies, complex atmospheric arrangements, post-blackened aggression, and melodic doom sensibilities. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Ghost Brigade, Swallow The Sun, Enslaved, Sólstafir, Ihsahn, Cult Of Luna, and Neurosis, the album captures both fragility and fury, balancing serene calm with emotional eruption.
Lyrically, V/Haze Miasma continues to reflect on the beauty, power, and vulnerability of nature while addressing humanity's hypocrisy in destroying it with eyes wide open. Praise Me! Erase Me! also explores personal struggles, social inequality, and the pervasive material and mental exploitation that characterises modern existence.
With the new album, V/Haze Miasma takes another bold step in its sonic evolution – an intense and natural soundscape that embodies both despair and hope, beauty and devastation.
The evocative album artwork was created by Swedish artist Niklas Sundin (ex-Dark Tranquillity, Mitochondrial Sun). Link
