Finnish atmospheric metal heavyweights The Man-Eating Tree are, after nearly a decade since their last full-length, In The Absence Of Light, back with the intense single/video, "Seer". The highly anticipated new single is a dark and brooding return that promises to satisfy fans and newcomers alike.
"Seer" is the first taste of the band's forthcoming album, Night Verses, due on 11 April via Noble Demon. With a revamped line-up and a fresh sound, The Man-Eating Tree is ready to take on the next intense chapter in its history.
The new track delves deep into themes of fear and inner turmoil, with founding member Janne Markus commenting, "The song is about the endless struggle with one's own fears. Seers, who live in all of us. A seer, who draws his strength from the prevailing negativity".
The band adds: "We can't wait to be able to finally share this first song with everyone, and fairly soon the whole album! 'Seer' is a direct, heavy, even angry song at the beginning of a new, just like the band itself at this point!"
The Man-Eating Tree's return comes with a renewed sense of purpose and a desire to push the boundaries of its sound. With a line-up featuring former and current members of legendary bands such as Ghost Brigade, Poisonblack, Mors Subita, Entwine and more, the band is poised to deliver its most powerful and dynamic album yet.
"This is not only the new gathering for old friends. This is a new musical direction, allowing the boundaries to be pushed wider and further. We are very much looking forward to presenting this to you", Janne Markus comments on the band's activation and new beginning. Link
