Italy's The Black Veils has shared the first single and video, "Gaslight!" from its upcoming album, Gaslight, scheduled for autumn 2025 release via Icy Cold Records.
Coming four years after the release of the band's ferocious and political album, Carnage, "Gaslight!" is a synth-driven dancefloor post-punk song with an obsessive chorus that gets stuck in your head.
Taking inspiration from The Black Veils' typical cinematographic background, "Gaslight!" is named after George Cukor's movie of the same name, quoting Leonard Cohen - "drunk in a midnight choir" - and depicting an ambiguous portrait always open to interpretations. Who's the Gaslighter? Who's the gaslighted? She is he, and he is she. Gender is over. There could be a couple, or maybe the fight rages inside. The Gaslighter knows. Link
