US industrial metal outfit Skumlove, recently signed to Candlepower Records, a subsidiary of Virgin Music, have dropped their first offering for the label: "Blood And Roses", a cover of the classic track by legendary American rockers The Smithereens.

Founding member Skum Love noted: "The original song really touched my soul. The struggle between mental health and love plays a big part in many of our lives. Pat DiNizio was truly one of the world's best songwriters. I knew I wanted to do my own version of this song and it took many years to figure out the ideas that were in my head. I did not want to take away what he created, but add upon it without losing the message. I think we did it justice and opened the song to a new generation".

"Blood And Roses" was produced and engineered by Kevin Kipnis at BFOK Studios, with drums recorded at Saints in LA Studio. The track was co-produced by Michael Ciravolo, while mastering was handled by Grammy-nominated engineer Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles.

Born in Los Angeles, Skumlove is a collision of industrial, goth, post-punk, metal and electronic influences, centred around frontman and creator Skum Love. After more than two decades in the underground scene, the project continues to evolve while remaining true to its dark and uncompromising identity.

Recent releases, including "The Dark", "EGO" and "Ride Or Die", showcase an act that persistently blurs the boundaries between dark, heavy and alternative music. Renowned for their intense theatrical performances and post-apocalyptic visual aesthetic, Skumlove remain firmly rooted in the underground while continuing to attract new audiences. Link
