Electronic artist SINE — the creative force of Rona Rougeheart — steps boldly into a new era with the release of her solo album La Mordre on Metropolis Records. The record marks a striking evolution in her sound, expanding her signature style into a darker, more cinematic realm where genre boundaries dissolve and themes of lust, ambition, seduction, and power intertwine. Accompanying the album is a brand‑new video for the track “Blood + Wine”, further deepening the album’s visual and emotional world.
Rougeheart, a pioneer of what she calls “Electronic Boom”, continues to refine her unmistakable sonic identity: heavy sub‑bass, tactile grooves, industrial textures, and lyrics that balance sarcasm, humour, and stark honesty. On La Mordre, these elements fuse into something sharper and more immersive, elevating her sound to its most confident and expressive form yet.
“When I started to gather the demos that I really wanted to include on the album, I saw a story unfolding,” Rougeheart explains. “The songs, in order, put together a picture of someone navigating a new and exciting but seemingly treacherous path with eyes on this ‘big prize’ or breakthrough — and they’ll do anything to get it. It’s a seductive tale with vampiric tendencies and a little loosening of moral values; a glittery story that will hopefully make you want to know more.”
La Mordre features a blend of self‑produced tracks and collaborations with notable figures in the dark‑electronic sphere, including Curse Mackey (Pigface, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult) and AwareNess (calm.). The album’s final polish comes courtesy of Mark Pistel (Consolidated, Meat Beat Manifesto), whose mastering adds depth and clarity to Rougeheart’s most ambitious work to date.
SINE will take La Mordre on the road this August, touring the US on the Divine Creatures Tour alongside Seattle‑based act Nuda, with Curse Mackey joining select dates as DJ support.
With La Mordre, SINE delivers a seductive, shadow‑lit narrative wrapped in pulsating electronics — a record that not only expands her artistic reach but also cements her place among the most compelling voices in modern dark electronic music. Link
