Italy's Orax, a pioneer of the synthwave/retrowave genre, has released a new album, Blame, on NewRetroWave Records.
Orax's sound is strongly influenced by the 80s cult films' soundtracks and 80s English new wave. Orax has opened live for international projects, including Cassius, VNV Nation, Wolfgang Flur (Kraftwerk), Underworld, Tiga, Covenant, Trust, Soft Moon and more... In 2014, the partnership with the most important and largest American music network/record company of the genre, NewRetroWave Records. Since then, the project has continuously released albums and singles that have had a major impact on the genre.
"With the album Blame, Orax confirms its classic eclectic sound. The result of the fusion between rock and electro music. Orax mixes the sound of guitars with that of analogue synthesizers to create obsessive rhythms that recall the first EBM music of the 80s up to the industrial rock of the early 90s. An album that changes atmospheres but always follows a common thread." Link
