Gothenburg, Sweden-based atmospheric/cosmic black metal trio Lightlorn is set to unleash their sophomore album, The Ebb And Flow Of Galactic Tides, on 6 March via their newly established label, Rogue Planet Records. Leading the charge is the explosive single "Emergent Chaos", a harbinger of the album's intense yet expansive soundscapes.
With The Ebb And Flow Of Galactic Tides, Lightlorn continues to explore the vastness of the cosmos through the lens of human emotion. From the blistering opener "Emergent Chaos" to the introspective closer "Eternal Recurrence Of The Same", the album balances aggression and serenity, light and dark, crafting a journey that is as expansive as the universe itself. The fourth track, "I Carry Galaxies", features haunting clean vocals by Flo V. Schwarz of Pyogenesis, adding another layer of depth to the record.
"The Ebb And Flow Of Galactic Tides is an extension of the Lightlorn sound that we've become known for, but it has evolved, and we have explored new avenues in terms of songwriting", says Renwar. "Working as a three-piece has been conducive to our creativity, and we are very proud of the songs and the album as a whole. Overall, it's heavier than the debut, with more varied songs, but it's still unmistakably Lightlorn. After much internal discussion, we decided to release this album under the banner of Rogue Planet Records, which is our own, newly created record label."
Recorded at Svart Studio with engineer Dennis Fransson and mixed/mastered by David Mauritzon at Soundtornado, the album's artwork was crafted by Nikhil Kumar, perfectly capturing the otherworldly atmosphere that defines Lightlorn's music. Link
