Italian symphonic rock/metal band Just Reborn has unveiled its latest single and lyric video, "Ad Aspera". The poignant exploration of overcoming darkness and finding the strength to rise above is taken from the critically acclaimed album Formae Mentis.
The band comments: "The song is about the "power of dreams" as a useful tool for dealing with life's complexity. It also discusses the fear of opening one's eyes and finding oneself in a reality where hate and falsehood rule ("I opened my eyes. It felt so different than before. Your innocent face now has turned into a masquerade—of hate!"). You can win through the power of dreams ("Wake in your dreams go ahead and try to scream" ... "Stay in the eagle's eye your time has come to fly") ...believe in dreams... ("Believe in all your dreams and fight hold on, it won't be long and then you'll see the sun and reach for the sky"). It is a very reflective song like many others in Formae Mentis but it also delivers a positive message, especially to young people."
"Ad Aspera" is just one gem from the album Formae Mentis. Crafted over three years, Formae Mentis is a concept album that delves into the intricate labyrinth of the human mind. Each track is a testament to the band's dedication, showcasing influences ranging from classical music to power metal, medieval echoes to progressive rock, blues to lyrical opera. This rich tapestry of sounds has been meticulously woven together, resulting in a symphonic power metal album that is both unique and compelling. Link
