Swiss modern/symphonic metallers Illumishade strike out into new territory with their latest video single, "Paralyzed".

A dark, pulsating testament to the group's individuality, the track delivers its hook from the very first moment, before a crushing, whammy‑laden riff sweeps in beneath its sombre wings. Fabienne Erni steps forward, cloaked in melancholy, only to unleash her trademark vocal grandeur — reminding listeners why this band captured their hearts in the first place.

"We've come to a point of stepping out of the cocoon. It feels like a soft revolution led us to this version of Illumishade - defying comparisons to other contemporary metal bands. It's essentially our very own thing," says Fabienne Erni.

"We found a place where a towering heaviness meets a soothing kind of melancholia. We're curious to see where this song will lead us next", adds Jonas Wolf.

Lyrically, "Paralyzed" explores the inability to let go of a once‑lost love — a hymn for the broken‑hearted, the grieving, the unresolved. And, true to Illumishade's spirit, a faint thread of hope is woven through the sorrow.

Founded in Zürich in 2019 by vocalist Fabienne Erni and guitarist Jonas Wolf, both known for their work with Celtic folk metal titans Eluveitie, Illumishade have released two full‑length albums and toured extensively across Europe and North America. After years on the road, the band made a deliberate return to full independence. "Paralyzed" marks the first statement of this new era, enriched by the cinematic depth of award‑winning film composer Mirjam Skal on keys, Yannick Urbanczik on bass, and Marc Friedrich on drums. Link
