Amorphis released their new album, Borderland, yesterday via Reigning Phoenix Music, and accompanied it with the "Fog To Fog" lyric video.
The haunting track, "Fog To Fog", a piece born of desolate landscapes and timeless echoes, is among the album's highlights.
Keyboardist Santeri Kallio recalls: "I travelled as far north as I could, to the last corner of the Arctic Ocean, and there I found the inspiration for 'Fog To Fog'; dead black cliffs and feelings frozen forever. A journey to the Norwegian fjords, where no one lives voluntarily...maybe the Vikings once upon a time, most likely out of necessity".
From the icy edge of the Arctic to the echoes of ancient Vikings, "Fog To Fog" captures a voyage through frozen memories and silent landscapes, where solitude is a whisper of survival. The black cliffs stand as monuments to resilience, their shadows whispering tales of necessity and destiny. In this journey, Amorphis present a testament to the human spirit's endurance amid the cold, unyielding wilderness. In every frozen breath, a story of life pushed to the brink unfolds.
Borderland was released in time for the band's massive European headline tour with Arch Enemy, Eluveitie, and Gatecreeper, starting on 10 October in Germany, and a December tour in their home country.
