Pagan/black metal force Varg invite their fans to another ritual with the second single off of their upcoming live album, Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024, set for release on 22 May via Napalm Records. With "Morgenrot", the band unveil a powerful duet between growler Freki and vocalist Fylgja, demonstrating their ability to blend brutal sounds with epic melodies. Captured during their performance at their own festival, the track—originally released in 2023 on Ewige Wacht—naturally bathed the stage in awe‑inspiring red, as reflected in the stirring new live video.
Varg on "Morgenrot": "'Morgenrot' tells the story of the moment after a great battle—when the smoke clears and the first rays of the rising sun fall on the battle field. In our imagination, the Valkyries then ride across the skies and lead the bravest warriors to Valhalla. This mix of dignity, myth, and epic grandeur make this song special for us—and live at Wolfszeit Festival, this atmosphere unfolded perfectly".
