The Exceptional Mr Hyde drops a new video single, "The Girl In Room 9" — a dark, gothic tale driven by industrial beats, post‑punk energy and a haunting bass line inspired by 1960s rockabilly.
The story centres on a mysterious girl, shaped by chaos and rage, who is locked away in isolation from a very young age. Branded insane and subjected to electroshock treatment, she becomes a silent figure suspended between madness, trauma and something far more sinister.
Shot primarily in stark black-and-white, the video shifts between a decaying flat and the claustrophobic confines of a padded cell. Its narrative is accompanied by gritty animated figures representing the forces that forged her world: Father Chaos, Mother Rage, and The Girl in Room Nine.
The visuals blur the boundaries between memory, hallucination and reality as her story unfolds within the walls of Room Nine.
