French soulful post-punk act The Memory Of Snow will release their new EP To The North Sea on 5 December via Meridian Noir Records, introducing the first single from their forthcoming fourth album Inside, to be released in early 2026.

Conceived as a conceptual companion to David Bowie’s Outside — which marked its 30th anniversary this year — Inside dives into the darker corners of human nature through the eyes of detective Jonas Stern. Inspired by Scandinavian thrillers, industrial and drone textures, yet firmly rooted in Wagener’s post-punk universe, the album is not a copy but an artistic challenge. “I don’t consider myself anywhere near Bowie’s genius,” Wagener explains. “It’s simply my attempt to write a follow-up to Outside while making it a true The Memory Of Snow record.”

The EP sets the tone with the urgent, driving single “To The North Sea”, accompanied by a video. It also features a bold cover of A-Ha’s “I’ve Been Losing You” and two exclusive B-sides: the haunting “Phaser” and the southern gothic–tinged “Mississippi”, blending cold electronics with raw emotion.

With Inside, The Memory Of Snow crafts a novel-like journey through perversion, cruelty, and domestic abuse, while also reflecting on society’s paradoxes and offering glimpses of hope and redemption. A video is already available for the track "To The North Sea", as well as for the unexpected cover of A-Ha's "I've Been Losing You". Link
