The Exceptional Mr Hyde now comes with "Boogeyman Baby" — a gothic blues/post‑punk horror piece born of a true hospital ordeal. As monitors beep and lights fade, the Boogeyman prowls the ward, claiming patients from their beds one by one.
This song and animated video fuse black humour, gothic horror, and voodoo mythology, with the band reimagined as monstrous figures stalking the corridors. Echoes of Papa Legba, Maman Brigitte, death at the crossroads, and whispered warnings in the dark weave through the tale, as "Boogeyman Baby" spins a twisted narrative of fear, fate, and survival.
Written in the aftermath of a heart attack, the track channels the uncanny sense that "something" was visiting neighbouring beds at night — and not all patients saw the morning. Hallucination, dread, folklore, or something darker… the Boogeyman was at work. Link
