The Dead Flowers Graves has unveiled its rendition of the iconic Misfits track "Dig Up Her Bones". Known for its distinctive blend of heavy doom and occult prog, the band offers a deeply personal tribute to a group that has inspired it for years.
"This is our heartfelt homage to an iconic band we've all been listening to forever - the Misfits - reimagined through the lens of Type O Negative", the band shares. "The lyrics, in their simplicity, are beautiful, poignant, romantic, and hauntingly mortal. We felt a strong connection between the song and an alternate artwork we had originally created for Elemento, our latest release. Using that artwork felt like the perfect way to honor this tribute."
Elemento, released in October via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records, is available now on all streaming platforms and as a CD edition.
Founded in 2017, The Dead Flowers Graves has forged a path through the mystical and esoteric, weaving its unique soundscape with doom-metal influences, spiritism, and legend. Featuring a charismatic female vocalist whose haunting and shamanic presence defines its sound, the band channels a ritualistic energy that captivates fans of acts like Blood Ceremony, Jess And The Ancient Ones, and The Devil's Blood.
With "Dig Up Her Bones", The Dead Flowers Graves invites listeners into a spellbinding journey - where the dark allure of the Misfits meets its signature mystic sound. Whether you're drawn to the profound atmospheres of heavy doom or the ethereal realms of occult prog, this release promises to enchant both long-time fans and newcomers alike. Link
