Sweden's Solus Rex, a solo project by multi-instrumentalist Peter Svensson (Void Moon, Assassin's Blade, Anchorite, ex-Goatess, and more), continues to carve his own path through the shadows of old-school doom/death metal. After the release of his 2024 debut EP, The Duellist's Monologue, Solus Rex now returns with a powerful new chapter: Scenes From Yonder Life, set for release on 12 December through Obelisk Polaris Productions. While the first EP explored the crushing weight of Weltschmerz, the fading spark of imagination, and the torment at the heart of artistic creation, Scenes From Yonder Life delves deeper into the personal, the intimate, and the long-buried.
Built around lyrics written over almost 25 years, the EP gathers fragments of past experiences and emotions into a dark, personal, and reflective collection, with the first single, "Isn't This What You Wanted?" already revealed. Link
