German atmospheric black metal band Schreigarm has set 12 September as the release date for its second full-length, Mara Comes And Darkness Shall Reign, to be released via Purity Through Fire. The first single, "Whispers Of The Blackened Woods", alongside the accompanying video, is already out.
Mara Comes And Darkness Shall Reign - the conceptual creation- explores the multifaceted nature of darkness, its manifestations, and its ever-present influence on human existence.
The album blends atmospheric black metal with elements of melodic black and post-black metal, crafting a unique sonic experience. Listeners can expect epic melodic guitar solos, ritualistic moments, and a seamless fusion of extreme and clean vocal styles. Schreigarm's ability to intertwine these elements results in an evocative and haunting journey through sound and emotion.
Mara Comes And Darkness Shall Reign not only represents a bold artistic statement but also solidifies Schreigarm's place as a standout voice in the black metal genre. With its powerful compositions and profound themes, the album promises to resonate deeply with fans of atmospheric and melodic black metal alike.
Schreigarm was born in the frosty February twilight of 2020 in the German city of Neuss. It is a project of two experienced Ukrainian musicians, Styrr and Ingvarr. Schreigarm debuted with its first album, The Mysteries Of Fate (2023), which was released under the label Werewolf Promotion. The album was highly praised for its atmospheric depth and unique approach to the genre. This release became the foundation for the band's further development and laid a solid groundwork for a new chapter in its creative path. Link
