Slovenian extreme metal pioneers Noctiferia return with a brand‑new video single, "Aeon Shift" — offering the first glimpse into their forthcoming eighth full-length.

Their story is as remarkable as their impact on the metal scene is defining. Emerging from the early‑1990s underground, Noctiferia have, over more than three decades, become one of Slovenia's most influential and internationally recognised acts, far beyond the borders of their home country's heavy‑music landscape.

Entering history as the first Slovenian band to perform at Wacken Open Air, and honoured with the Honorary Plaque of the City of Ljubljana for their 25th anniversary and cultural contribution, Noctiferia have continually reshaped their sound — moving through black metal, death metal, industrial and groove metal, while incorporating electronic, ethnic and acoustic elements.

Throughout their career, they have performed extensively across Europe and China, sharing stages with internationally renowned bands and appearing at major festivals — including standout performances at Ljubljana's Drama Theatre and Opera House. Their international collaborations have involved acclaimed producers such as Peter Tägtgren, Jonas Kjellgren, Johan Örnborg, Jens Bogren and Henrik Udd, among others.

2026 marks another milestone in the evolution of this extreme metal institution. With the introduction of Miloš Mihajlović as their new vocalist and David Bordon as their new drummer, Noctiferia return with a refreshed line‑up, completed by bassist Uroš Lipovec and guitarists Igor Nardin and Andrej Blatnik. The band have also announced a new studio album, due for release in November 2026 on Nika Records — signalling a new chapter in their musical progression. Their 2026 resurgence also marks the beginning of the band's approach towards their 30th anniversary celebrations in 2027.
