Barcelona’s (Spain) post‑punk/darkwave trio Low Blows return with their self‑titled sophomore album, accompanied by the release of its first single and video, “Vacío”. The new record marks a significant step forward for the band, sharpening their shadow‑soaked sound while delving deeper into emotional and existential terrain.
Recorded between 2024 and 2025 at the band’s own rehearsal space and at Estudi Nautilus with engineer Jordi Solans, Low Blows bears the unmistakable touch of producer Matteo Vallicelli (The Soft Moon). Final mastering was handled by Maurizio Baggio at La Distilleria in Italy, known for his work with some of the most distinctive names in the dark alternative sphere.
Speaking about the album’s thematic core, the band explain: “This record was inspired by the path we’ve walked both as individuals and as a band — by the emotions that surfaced in contrast to the existential void and decay of Western culture.”
The video for “Vacío” further amplifies this atmosphere of inner tension and cultural disintegration. Directed by Marta Szewczyk and featuring Malwina Starczewska, the visual narrative mirrors the song’s sense of emptiness, dislocation, and quiet rebellion.
