A new force is stirring in the depths of the extreme metal underground. Hexbane, a band forged by some of the genre’s most influential figures, has unveiled the first details of its debut EP, From Hell, set for release in September via The Circle Music and Hell’s Fire Records.
Born from a shared reverence for the earliest, most primal days of black metal, Hexbane channel the raw spirit of the genre’s formative era — a time when chaos, atmosphere, and unfiltered aggression shaped what would become a global movement. The band’s mission is clear: to resurrect the essence of pure proto‑black metal, unpolished and uncompromising.
Hexbane’s line‑up reads like a summit of extreme metal royalty: The Magus – vocals (ex‑Necromantia, ex‑Rotting Christ, The Magus, Thou Art Lord), George Emmanuel – guitars (Lucifer’s Child, ex‑Rotting Christ), Tas Danazoglou – bass (Friends Of Hell, ex‑Electric Wizard, Mirror, Satan’s Wrath), and Faust – drums (Djevel, ex‑Emperor, Blood Fire Death)
Together, they form a coalition of musicians whose legacies span decades of black, doom, and occult metal history.
Speaking about the project, the band stated: “Hexbane is a band born out of nostalgia and admiration for the primal black metal days, where pioneer bands created and established the genre. So expect nothing more and nothing less than pure proto‑black metal in music and spirit.”
The artwork for From Hell has now been revealed, offering the first glimpse into the aesthetic world the band is crafting. Pre‑orders for the 7" EP will open on 6 June, with further details — including tracklist, formats, and audio previews — to be announced in the coming months.
