The rising dark country/gothic rock project From The Land—the brainchild of Anatoly Pakhalenko, one-half of the acclaimed dark folk ensemble Nytt Land—has released a striking live video for the single "I’m Your Salvation". The track delves into spiritual and theological motifs that lie at the heart of the dark country tradition.
The video underscores the song’s lyrical foundation, which draws directly from the 35th Psalm of the Bible. Religious imagery has long been intertwined with the genre, and "I’m Your Salvation" channels this connection with solemn intensity.
Speaking about the inspiration, From The Land explains: "Biblical themes naturally align with the essence of this musical style, imbuing the songs with profound meaning. The 35th Psalm, which forms the basis of ‘I’m Your Salvation’, is a prayer for justice restored and salvation from human malice—anchored in hope in God, the source of life and light."
The release of the video coincides with the arrival of the band’s debut full-length album, Stolen Season pt. I, now available digitally via 7 Mater. The physical edition is slated for release in February. Fans can also revisit the previously unveiled video for "Run On" over HERE, which further showcases the project’s evocative reinterpretation of American folklore through a dark, gothic lens. Link
