Portland (USA)-based shadow‑drenched outfit Dry Wedding have released their new single “Moths”, accompanied by a stark, hypnotic video and the official announcement of their forthcoming third album, The Back Of Beyond, set to arrive on 31 July via Vesperian/Metal Blade Records.
Following the recent single “Arrowhead”, which pushed the band into their most forceful and expansive territory yet, “Moths” turns inward. The track trades sheer intensity for a slow‑burning tension, weaving restraint, atmosphere, and the band’s signature physicality into a brooding, deliberate ascent. Post‑punk unease, gothic‑country dust, and the crushing weight of noise rock and doom intersect here, forming a sound that feels both tightly controlled and perpetually on the verge of rupture.
Frontman Davey Ferchow reflects on the track’s origins: “As we began writing our third album, we wanted to push certain sonic elements further than ever. ‘Moths’ was an exercise in patience and restraint, and it quickly became a band favorite. Our new music video blends raw performance footage with Lynchian visuals to reflect the song's lyrical themes — the tenebrous parts of ourselves that we hope to conceal, and the all‑consuming impact of bringing them to light.”
Directed by Olivia Bayer, the video amplifies this duality. Stark, unfiltered performance shots collide with abstract, dream‑logic imagery, creating a visual language that mirrors the song’s internal struggle — a place where control and collapse coexist, flickering like wings against a bare bulb.
