Germany's long‑running darkwave/electro/dark pop project Blutengel return with a new video single, "Schwarzer Engel", out now on Out Of Line Music. The track serves as the second single from the group's soon‑to‑be‑announced album, with a four‑track CD edition expected on 17 July.

"Schwarzer Engel" delivers exactly what Blutengel excel at: atmospheric, emotionally charged dark electronics driven by an irresistible melodic pull. The song channels the sweeping synthpop sensibility and the familiar duality of longing and darkness that have defined the project for more than two decades, while hinting at new sonic territory on the forthcoming album.

The full single‑EP / CD edition, also available physically, expands the release into a complete sonic package. US darkwave/EBM duo ghostbells contribute a club‑ready remix shaped by icy synths, pulsing basslines, reverb‑soaked guitars, and melancholic melodies. At the opposite end of the spectrum, dark rock formation Erdling offer a stripped‑back piano interpretation that exposes the track’s emotional core. Dark pop act Destroy Me Again round out the release with their signature blend of driving beats and atmospheric hooks.

Ghostbells and Destroy Me Again will also join Blutengel at Dark Summer Open Air Vol. 2, held at Wasserschloss Klaffenbach in Chemnitz on 12 September — the only full‑length Blutengel show of 2026. Link
