Finnish gothic doom/death metallers 2 Wolves have revealed the first track, "No Longer", from their forthcoming fifth full-length, Not Worth It, due this summer through Werewolf Records in CD format.
Formed in 2011 in Werewolf Records' home of Lappeenranta, 2 Wolves is one of Finnish metal's best-kept secrets. The band has released four full-lengths, finessing a classics-minded gothic doom/death sound through the prolific Inverse Records. With no hint of irony, 2 Wolves evokes a rich nostalgia for the 90s, which is a major reason that Werewolf has surprisingly made a blood pact with the band for the release of its fifth album (and first in five years), Not Worth It.
As sterling as a place as any, to start one's journey with 2 Wolves, Not Worth It lumbers into life with no small amount of pathos and bathos. The quintet here erect towers of sombre, velvety sound, mining the vast field of dynamics - the requisite of this subgenre. Link
