Four years after their debut, Voyna — the side project of Golden Apes frontman Peer Lebrecht — make a striking return with “Wrong Face”, the first single from their forthcoming album Monsters, due at the end of November via Aenaos Records.
The track shimmers with elegance, balancing post-punk grit and pop sensibility. Its verses pulse with bass-driven sparseness, while the chorus lifts into an airy, buoyant release — a dynamic tension that defines its allure. Subtle shifts of light and shadow intertwine with melodic inventiveness and meticulous detail, creating a sound both captivating and unpretentious.
Exultant yet tinged with quiet melancholy, “Wrong Face” carries a playful wink in the lyric “…this is a wrong track…”. It’s a song that thrives on contrasts — balancing introspection with brightness, restraint with exuberance — and in doing so, it captures Voyna’s unique artistic voice with effortless charm.
Formed in 2020 as a creative outlet, Voyna merges introspective songwriting with atmospheric soundscapes. Following the acclaimed debut The Cinvat Bridge (2021) and the ...And The Heresies EP (2023), the project returns in 2025 with Monsters (Aenaos Records) - a ten-track blend of synth-driven darkwave and guitar-fueled post-punk, set to be brought to the stage throughout 2026.
