French post-punk/gothic rock masters Soror Dolorosa announced that the guitarists Jean-Baptiste Marquet and Xavier Pinel left the band due to internal issues. The band released its highly anticipated album, Mond, via Prophecy Productions in October last year. Now, the band is left with two founding members, Andy Julia (vocals) and Hervé Carles (bass).
Andy Julia comments: "We, Hervé and Andy are the founding members of Soror Dolorosa. We gave birth to this fragile and marvellous entity in which we dedicate our entire souls and a huge part of our lifes for more than 20 years now. Jean-Baptiste and Xavier decided to leave the band for some internal reasons. We were lucky to have the chance to work with such talented musicians and we gonna keep close to our hearts the beautiful musical moments they gave us in studio and onstage during the creation and the revelation of Mond’s process. It’s their choice, they took Time to think about it and the band have to continu despite the energetic move this fact will emplies. Soror Dolorosa is not only a music band, it’s a slice of life, and it will be alive untill us, Hervé and I, will be living on this earth. We gonna be back on the stage with some other member that many of you already know as a blazing specter. Some other annoucement will be done soon."
Jean-Baptiste and Xavier comment: "We, Jean-Baptiste and Xavier, are leaving the band due to internal issues. We will no longer be part of the band for the upcoming shows. We want to thank all the great people we have met over the past years at the venues, we had a great time with you."
In other news, Soror Dolorosa will play at a bunch of festivals this summer, including Castle Party (10-13 July) and Prophecy Fest (11-13 September). Link
