USA-based darkwave/EBM duo ghostbells has signed a record deal with German label Out Of Line Music and released a new single, "Darkness Saves", alongside a music video that will make you miss the early 2000s. The duo - Jessica Perry (vocals, guitar, bass, synth) and Jim Finley (producer, vocals, bass, guitar, synth) - create music that’s equal parts ethereal and danceable, nostalgic and futuristic. Their signing to Out Of Line Music marks the beginning of a new chapter for the label and the genre alike.
Jessica Perry and Jim Finley aren't new to the music scene, but have now decided to embark on a brand new venture with their shared music project, ghostbells. With their glowingly dark new-wave–meets–EBM electronic soundscapes, this band will soon be known worldwide for their brooding soundscapes, haunting melodies, and driving dance beats.
Inspired by the depths of the underground electronic scene, their music fuses icy synths, pulsing basslines, reverb-soaked guitars, and melancholic lyricism into a sound that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking. ghostbells’ music invites listeners into a shadowy world where nostalgia and modernity collide, offering an emotional journey through darkness and light, converging in perfect dissonance.
The band comments about the song: “‘Darkness Saves’ is a descent into the arms of a ghost - an alluring spirit who lures you deeper with every breath, every glance. It’s about surrendering to her presence, even as the world fades around you, and finding strange salvation in the shadows she casts.”
Crafted through a unique creative approach, Jessica explains her process: “I hear the songs for the first time in the moment I’m tracking them, so my reaction is completely visceral. The track speaks to me, and I begin lyrically and melodically building a world around it. Every song is its own emotional landscape.”
With “Darkness Saves”, ghostbells bring you into that landscape, a place where melancholy and motion coexist, where dancefloors become dreamscapes, and where light only exists to highlight the dark.
ghostbells made their live debut this year at Castle Party Festival in Bolków, Poland, one of Europe’s most celebrated gothic and alternative festivals, instantly winning over a growing audience. More live appearances are already being planned for 2026, with announcements on the horizon. Link
