Danish melodic doom/death metal formation Empire Drowns proudly presents the crushing new video single, "Volcanic Funeral", out via Mighty Music.
With echoes of Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, and Anathema, the track showcases the band's unique ability to merge atmospheric melancholy with punishing heaviness. Towering riffs, mournful melodies, guttural power, and cinematic textures intertwine, creating an immersive soundscape that is as bleak as it is beautiful.
"Volcanic Funeral" offers a first glimpse into the next chapter of Empire Drowns. A chapter where Scandinavian gloom meets vast, contrasting inspirations, resulting in music that is both emotionally charged and sonically massive.
Mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Moonspell, The Haunted, Baest) and recorded by Marco Angioni (Tygers Of Pan Tang, Thorium), the single delivers the kind of depth and intensity that demands repeat listens.
For fans of melodic doom/death at its most evocative, "Volcanic Funeral" is the sound of beauty and brutality colliding, and a sign of what's to come from one of Denmark's most compelling heavy acts. Link
