Italian atmospheric folk / black metal band Duir have confirmed 26 June as the release date for their second full‑length, Catarsi, which will be issued via AOP Records. The band has also revealed the first video single, "Impeto".

Formed in 2013 by MK, Duir set out to fuse personal musical influences with the rawness of black metal and the evocative character of folk traditions. Their name derives from the Celtic word for "oak", a symbol associated with endurance and wisdom.

Following the self‑released demo Tribe (2014) and the EP Obsidio (2018), the band toured extensively throughout Italy. Their debut album, T. S. N. R. I. – Impermanenza (2022), marked a shift towards a more melodic and atmospheric folk / black metal sound, weaving introspective melodies with themes of impermanence and existential reflection.

Duir's forthcoming second album, Catarsi, stands as their most ambitious work to date. Set against the backdrop of the First World War, it tells the story of a young soldier torn between pride, despair, and the pull of oblivion. Through a blend of atmospheric black metal and evocative folk elements, Catarsi leads listeners on a cathartic journey where history becomes emotion and memory transforms into sound. The album features a guest vocal appearance by L.G. of Ellende and was mixed and mastered by P.G. of Groza at Ad Nauseam Sounds, further refining the band's signature balance of haunting melody and visceral intensity.
