Finnish gothic/doom/dark metallers Denigrate announced that their founding member and guitarist Seppo ”Sepi” Nummela (1980-2025)) has passed away. Sepi was one of the main composers of all four Denigrate albums. The most recent was, To The Goddess Unknown, released in 2024 via Inverse Records. We also selected the album as one of the top 50 albums of last year, and it took part in the Terra Relicta Dark Music Awards 2024.
The band posted next statement on their Facebook page: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of our brother and a founding member of the band, Seppo ”Sepi” Nummela (1980-2025). This obviously hits us heavily as a band as our ”engine” is not with us anymore. Our thoughts are with Sepi’s family and close ones at the moment. Possible plans for the future of Denigrate are posted later." Link
