Norway, a land full of mysticism and mysteries with unique and ethereal nature, the cradle of the purest black metal in essence. There Endezzma was born in 2006, very well represented by the unique personality of its founder and frontman Morten Shax. Since their first formation, the band has always invoked a brutal, fiercely intense and aesthetically mystical approach, following its own path, regardless of what other bands thought or were doing. In addition to Shax on vocals and Malphas on guitars, Endezzma's line-up includes Nihil on rhythm guitar, Aske on bass and Skriu on drums. In 2017 the band released their second full-length album, The Arcane Abyss. A powerful album with ferocious tracks, a perfect structure with symbiotic and unique synchronicity. It was my pleasure to review this album, and I also fell in love with this band of differentiated and unique originality.

I have been looking forward to the next album, and ever since I heard that Endezzma inked a deal with Dark Essence Records, and was going to release a new album, I have been waiting nervously to have the pleasure of listening to this album in its entirety and once again review something I was sure it's going to be a work of art. The Archer, Fjord And The Thunder is a concept album with a different approach. I say this because it is not a traditional concept album where a story is told from the beginning to the end. The concept here refers to a worldview. It is a mythical, intense and obscure journey. Throughout its existence, Endezzma improves with each release. With their third full-length album, the band made a leap in exceptional quality. The basis of its music continues, that is, they mix very well the diabolic aggressiveness of primordial black metal and new epic elements that have been developed over the years. Endezzma is certainly not a band that has stopped in time and refuses to innovate and add the best we have today. This feature is strikingly visible with each album released.

The Archer, Fjord And The Thunder is undoubtedly the maximum representative so far of the band's growth and their musical style. This album is emotional for me, and it touched my soul deeply because, from the beginning to the end, I felt the dedication and souls of all the members of the band. It was certainly hard work, but I believe that each one of them expressed his feelings with the purest devotion. Unfolding the tracks on the album to make you curious and no less anxious to be able to hold it in your hands and delight your ears, I can say that "The Awakening" is a heady and perfect introduction to grandly precede "The Name Of The Night Is The Strong Tower.” This track was carefully built on a traditional base, in addition to being polished and approaching the central part with more cadence and drag it does not leave its aggressiveness and ends epically.

"Anomalious Abomination" is pure devilish black metal and still their ability allows them to incorporate melodies that do not cut through the furious obscurity of the music. The title track "The Archer, Fjord And The Thunder", features powerful classic riff compositions and a sizzling ending. "Formless And Void" has a mind-bending rhythm but more cadenced with a melodious chorus, it is worth mentioning the excellent drums work. "Garden Ov Heathen" explores the guitars majestically by drawing a very classic harmony accompanying Morten Shax's strongly furious vocals. "Wild Glorior Death" transported me to the frozen lands, touched my heart with a beautiful melodic introduction with thunder in the background. Perfect bass and guitar work. My journey through the lands obscured by the eternal and cold night made me dive deeply into my subconscious.

"Open Your Eyes And Stab The Sight" is an inflamed sonic journey, open the door for "Arrows Of Equilibrium" that for sure have the power to pierce your heart, and finally, the awesome dark voyage ends with "Closure". I wake up screaming: I don't want to return! Let me stay on this land! Closing this review, I would like to thank all the members of Endezzma for the phenomenal work done with the album The Archer, Fjord And The Thunder and also to Stefan Todorovic's artwork, who captured the essence of the album in all its splendour. Congratz Endezzma!
