MØRKE - New Video For The Track From Upcoming Album Premiered Online

After the release of their debut album, Death Embraces You All, in January this year, the Norwegian gothic metal duo Mørke, a band formed by gothic metal legend, the ex-The Sins Of Thy Beloved and ex-Savn member Stig Johansen, together with his wife, the beautiful siren Susanne Dahle Johansen, are working hard on their sophomore album.
Now the two presents already the third track taken from the upcoming album and the video for "Malleus Maleficarum". Susanne Dahle Johansen explained to us about the song and the video: ""Malleus Maleficarum" is a song that has a lot of meaning. Malleus Maleficarum means the hammer of witches, and the lyrics are about the witch trials that was all over europe in the 1700s. It tells us about how horrible women and men were treated when they got executed by the Christians because they were so called "witches". Even if they knew a little about herbal medicine they were all of a sudden a witch, and got killed and tortured in horrible ways. I have worked at a museum in Stavanger a couple of years ago, and I know a lot of the history of the witch trials, and we needed to write a song about it. The video finds place in a very historical place as well... It was filmed in the basement of a over 100 years old abandoned mental hospital, so we if the walls could speak, we can just imagine what they would say..."
About the upcoming album Susanne adds: "The work on the album is going very well! We have songs ready and we have just a couple of songs left! The album will be released in in January, we will give you a more specific date when it gets closer."
