PALE LEAGUES - Presents Single From Forthcoming Debut EP

Melbourne (Australia) based doom constructor Pale Leagues released a brand new single, "Crusade", taken from the forthcoming debut EP, which will be released in early 2021. "Crusade" is the view from Atlantis, laying in situ with lost gods of the before time. Riptides of treble drown as forms haul irresistibly downward, mortally burdened by the mass of another guitar laden monolith. The sea floor, disturbed and obscured by the resulting debris swirls as a grim tortured vocal calls from this watery sepulchre for resurrection.

We drown under the weight of the universe, feeling the existential drag plummeting through space and time, particles colliding in a perpetual explosion of energy, both positive and negative. “Crusade” is the battle under the Pale Leagues, where the corporeal struggle to the surface only finds a void of dimension. To struggle, or resist are the only choices, each bringing no sweet release.

Pale Leagues began explorations into the realms of outlier music as a founding member of seminal 90s Melbourne goth project In Sect, which later mutated into extreme metal project Halo. Serving with a number of underground Melbourne assemblies including Leviathan, Betty Loves Satan, Lords Of Ruin and Israal, Pale Leagues is the distillation of a career long intent to unlock the excesses of emotional energy.

Pale Leagues comments: “"Crusade" completes another step toward finding a sound that distends the muscle in my chest in a way that brings melancholic joy. Though it may sound otherwise, there is joy hidden in there, if you let it drag you down you’ll find it.” Link
