NINO SABLE - Exclusive Premiere Of The New Video "Obey 2020"

Terra Relicta web magazine presents you an exclusive premiere of the brand new video for the Nino Sable's just-released single no. 7, "Obey 2020". The German artist Nino Sable, best known as the frontman of the mighty dark rock band Aeon Sable, is an individual whose artistic range spans myriad styles and draws on a wide range of influences, is active in the music scene for 20 years, and besides Aeon Sable, his musical endeavours include also the more alternative/post-punk/rock-oriented act Melanculia, dark electro band Deied and cold wavers Hqmr, not to mention many collaborations and guest appearances. Now Nino decided to continue his musical path also as a solo act, simply named Nino Sable.

It would be a mistake to pigeonhole him as he morphs, chameleon-like from one character to another, seamlessly crossing the traditional constraints and barriers constructed by society. But there is the history behind Nino Sable which explains much of what you see and hear today. Nino Sable grew up between Portugal and Germany and played in a lot of bands in both countries. The genesis of his musical journey was in the nineties, starting out with garage bands playing grunge, rock, metal, soul, (…) but he soon grew tired of the formulaic and restrictive nature of these projects.

In 2021 Nino Sable has been releasing individual tracks on a monthly basis but has decided to focus on his first full-length album which is planned for 2022. As you should already know, each last Sunday of the month Nino Sable hosts right here on Terra Relicta Radio a special radio show, The Nino Sable Show, where besides other dark music discoveries, every time he premieres one of his new tracks, which are right after that officially released on Bandcamp.

This time he released a different track, something that you would not expect from him, a powerful harsh industrial/EBM/dark electro driven "Obey 2020". Just like every Nino Sable's track so far, also in this one, he got help from Lars Kappeler (Sweet Ermengarde, October Burns Black, La Fin Absolue Du Monde,...). For the track, Nino Sable made a video which was filmed by Lapis Exilis.

Nino comments about the track and video: "The song was first written by me, and it was a plain electronic song - it was nothing outstanding nor special. Without guitars, without bass and without this kind of drums. I wrote this song at the beginning of the first lockdown here in Germany - at a time where the voices got harsher and security agents and police appeared everywhere, telling you what (not) to do. It had a massive impact on me and on my freedom. So, as an artist - the only solution was to go back home and create music. Music for lovers, for dreamers and for haters. One day, I met Lars Kappeler and I showed him this track and he smiled and said: “Ich habe dazu ein paar Ideen, kann ich damit mal etwas ausprobieren?” I agreed, and a few days later he presented me with this industrial interstellar spaceship. For some reason, I remembered my friend Lapis Exilis and asked him, if he could film me performing this song. Hehehe. It was a lot of fun!"

Watch the video for "Obey 2020" in the player below and get the track at Nino Sable's Bandcamp. As well, in case you missed it, you should read the recently published interview with Nino over HERE, where he explained many things about his solo project and radio show. Of course, don't miss The Nino Sable Show, every last Sunday of the month at 18:00 (CEST) only on Terra Relicta Radio.
